Sex is More than…Just Sex

There’s plenty of porn on the ‘net where sex is all about intercourse. But sex is more than just sex. Sex is about everything including God and the making of money. In winning the global race to success modern nations are realizing that they cannot afford to carry the dead weight of so-called “traditional morality.” From the religious right in the US to the Muslim right of the Taliban (and let’s not forget the Orthodox Jews in Israel and the Hindus in India) economies are being held back by restrictions on women’s rights and gay rights–all at a tremendous economic cost.
Hence the asymmetry in the corporate wars where large multinationals are ditching tradition fast. Chick-fil-A was a notable holdout in the march to sexual equality for gays in the US but even they are waffling. As reported by The Inquisitr,
Chick-Fil-A’s public relations nightmare continues, as the City of Boston has told the chain that it is no longer welcome to open locations in the Massachusetts capital following a reiteration of
anti-gay ideals.
In recent weeks, Chick-Fil-A has tried to assuage backlash against the company by backpedaling its anti-gay rhetoric on Facebook. But then the controversy exploded when the Muppets vocally cut ties with Chick-Fil-A over the company’s habit of funding anti-gay groups, and Chick-Fil-A responded by claiming Muppets toys were voluntarily recalled for safety reasons…planting fake Facebook users to report that toys had been pulled “weeks ago.”
…whatever way Chick-Fil-A tries to wriggle out of being called to account for toxic views, the company lands itself in even hotter
water. And now…Boston is not allowing any Chick-Fil-A branches to come to the city…
The news…about Amazon’s Jeff Bezos giving $2.5 million to the effort of marriage equality in Washington State marked a milestone. Bezos’ donation may well be the largest single donation to marriage equality and a ballot initiative… This puts Amazon among the most high-profile multi-billion dollar corporations pro-actively backing LGBT rights, joining Microsoft, Google, and Starbucks, as well as a slew of old guard companies, like General Mills and Kraft. …if Chick-fil-A is the most high-profile company the anti-gays have pushing their agenda, I think we can see where things are headed.
Business: it’s about making money. More than that, business is a real world example of the efficiency of inclusion. Come, reason with us.
